General Information

School Transcripts

A Level students are required to complete the process of admission in universities before the declaration of the A Level result, and are required to provide school transcripts showing the results of internal exams. In the absence of the final A Level result, these transcripts are extremely important for admission in any university's under-grad programme. Students need to perform well throughout the two years of A Level, so that the grades appearing on their transcripts are good enough to compel admission authorities not only to grant them admission but also offer them generous scholarships.

Monthly Result Sheets

(Applicable to A Level)

The monthly evaluation grades carry 20% weighting in the promotion decision of AI students. Result sheets are generated for the months of October, November, January, February and March for both AI & AII. They are also generated for the month of September for A-II and for the month of April for A-I. The results are handed to students well before a PTM and communicated to parents through our SMS Alert System. In case parents/guardians do not receive the results for any of the above mentioned months, they may contact the School Office to obtain a copy of the same.

Orientation

The purpose of the orientation is to introduce new students to the facilities, scheme of studies, time table, faculty and other staff members of the school and inform them about the policies and procedures that are followed at KIMS.

Communication with Parents

Information imparted to students through letters, emails, assemblies, notice boards etc. would be considered passed on to parents. It is therefore essential that students communicate all such information to their parents. Students and parents are also advised to keep checking the school website and official Facebook page for updates. The school also tries to maintain direct liaison with parents through the following means:

Student Management System & SMS Alert

KIMS has internally developed a student management system and successfully linked it with the Short Message Service provided by mobile phone operators. This enables us to send useful messages about students' academic progress, attendance and other important announcements to parents and students. Parents are requested to provide us with their cell numbers at the time of admission to help us communicate effectively.

Emails

Emails are an efficient and prompt way of providing information to and seeking the opinion of parents on urgent matters. Parents are therefore advised to provide their personal email addresses in the space provided in the application form, and check their email regularly.

Letters

Occasionally, parents are approached through letters and expected to favour us with their response accordingly. Letters are sent on the correspondence address provided to us in the Admission Form, so any change must be notified to the school administration without delay.

Attendance

The significance of all students attending classes regularly and punctually cannot be emphasized enough. Any absence without prior notice or an application results in a fine of Rs.100/-. Absconding from classes after marking presence in the campus would also result in the imposition of cash fines. The purpose of these fines is not to impose a burden on parents, but to induce students to think twice before being absent unnecessarily. To seek cooperation from parents in this regard, we will be using our SMS Alert System, so that when and where possible, the day of absence shall be communicated immediately to the parents.
