Pre O Level (Gr. VII & VIII)

 

  • The Cambridge syllabus is followed to equip students with tools that prepare them for O Level
  • The curriculum is fully supported by practical experiments to facilitate learning
  • Vocabulary building, both in English and Urdu, is an integral part of the curriculum
  • Efforts are made to promote comfort level with the English Language
  • A weighting is assigned to all written work, monthly / topic tests and exams taken during the year, all of which contribute to the final grade
  • Homework and test schedules are prepared and communicated to students and their parents in advance

 

O Level

 

  • O Level at KIMS is an exclusive 2-year programme, instead of the usual three
  • Students cover the syllabus of Urdu and appear for its final Cambridge exam in one academic year, and the remaining seven subjects at the end of the second year
  • The first academic year is extended to facilitate learning and preparation
  • Written work, monthly / topic tests and exams, all carry a weighting in the overall grade
  • Homework and test schedules are prepared and communicated to students and their parents in advance

 

A Level

 

  • The A level programme takes two years for completion
  • Students are required to choose a minimum of three subjects
  • AS qualification is offered for all subjects
  • Students can appear for the complete A level exam after a study period of two years, or alternatively, take the Advanced Subsidiary (AS) level examination after one year and the remaining papers in the second year
  • Apart from the First Term and Mock / Final Term exams, students are evaluated monthly on the basis of topic tests and quizzes
