Q I want to do Engineering. Is Chemistry compulsory for me?
A

A student wishing to continue engineering education in Pakistan must choose chemistry whereas student to get admission in a foreign university should prefer studying chemistry. However Maths and physics are compulsory to study engineering in Pakistan and abroad.

Q I have not studied Economics or Accounting at O Level. Will it be difficult for me to study these subjects at A Level?
A  Absolutely not; both subjects are taught right from the beginning. Students  with good background in English and Mathematics have a good chance of performing well.
Q A friend told me that to study Accounting after A level I need to study Mathematics but not Accounting. Is there any sense in this statement?
A

Absolutely right; Maths is the prerequisite. Maths is more important to study Accounting.

Q Is Business Studies credited half when studied along with Accounting or Economics? What is the reason behind it?
A

Good British universities give half credit to business studies as the syllabus overlap. Some students find it advantageous and others find it a sheer wastage of time.

Q Is Physics compulsory for a student who wants to be a computer engineer?   Maths, (Physics in Pakistan) is compulsory.
A

Yes in Pakistan it is.

Q I want to be a Physician. Some students told me that for the admission in Medical College A Level students are at a disadvantage compared to students who do F.Sc. Are those students right?
A

To some extent they are right but the students with good result  of O & A levels have a good chance.

Q Should I study more than three subjects at A Level? If yes, what should be additional subjects?
A

You should if can take the load and the criteria is the O level Grades        however remember that 3 As are better than 2As and 2 Bs.

Q Will A Level Mathematics be very difficult for me as I have not studied Additional Mathematics at O Level?
A No, not at all but Maths at O Level is compulsory for all groups including humanities for a  student continuing her education in Pakistan after A Level
Q I do not have aptitude for Mathematics. Can I afford to drop Mathematics?
